We are so pleased that you are considering bring your child to our school.

We have organised some open sessions for you to come and see us – please ring the school office and make an appointment for a tour and a conversation with our Head Teacher, Mrs Walton, and our EYFS lead and Deputy Head, Mrs Jackson.
 
 
Applications for the academic year beginning Sept 2024 need to be done online before 15th January 2024 at:

Primary school places in maintained schools such as Whickham Parochial are allocated at council level by Gateshead Council.

The Gateshead policy for admissions is as follows:

  • Your child will start school at the beginning of the academic year in which they will reach the age of five. (An academic year lasts from 1 September in one year to 31 August the following year). Children are entitled to a full time place as soon as they start school, however in most schools, the first term will include an induction period, (a period for your child to get used to school life gradually, generally lasting from September to October). Although, you may request that your child attends school part-time until later in the school year, but not beyond the point that your child reaches compulsory school age.
The LA will consider each case individually and you will be notified of the outcome of your request in April 2024.
